NORCS ROUND 6, 2025

  • Round 6 of the NORCS Off-Road Motocross Series delivered one of the most dramatic finales yet. Saturday kicked off under the heat and heavy dust during the kids and short course races. Overnight drizzle turned into steady rain by mid-Sunday, turning visibility into a major challenge for racers. Racers saw a new section this round as well. About 1:30 of riverbed was added on the east side of the course.

  • In the Women’s Pro class, Red Bull and JCR's Tarah Gieger made a surprise appearance and took the win, but the real battle was between series front-runners. Olivia Pugh (Fun Country KTM) clinched the championship with just a one point advantage heading into the last round with a clutch second-place finish. Breanna Wall (JMC) took third in the race and second in the series, holding off a hard-charging Cady Johnson, who finished just 3 seconds behind after an hour and a half of racing.

  • In the Men’s Pro class, series leader Chase Larson (Beta) had already secured the championship, but the race was far from predictable. Dylan Summerlin (JMC) missed Round 5—costing him a shot at the title. Cooper Stevens (JMC) nearly had the win locked up until a crash on the second-to-last lap opened the door. Jackson Rice (True North Motos) grabbed a well-earned second, while newcomer Connor Vanwoudenberg stormed from the back of the pack to claim an overall win. For the first time, the top two podium spots featured riders never before seen together up top. A thrilling end to an incredible season.

NORCS ROUND 3, 2025

  • Round 3 Conditions at Toutle MX Park Showcase Classic Northwest Off-Road Racing.

Round 3 at Toutle MX Park delivered the true essence of Northwest off-road racing. Riders battled through constant drizzle, brief sunbreaks, and intense 10-minute downpours that made for a dramatic and challenging day on the course.

  • In the Women’s AA class, GNCC racer Ashlee Gage claimed the top step of the podium. After pulling the holeshot, she was passed early by series leader Olivia Pugh. Gage stayed close, applying pressure throughout the race. With just minutes remaining, Pugh made a mistake in a right-hander, allowing Gage to retake the lead and secure the win. Breanna Wall of JMC Motosports rode a smart, consistent race on her own to round out the podium in third.

  • In the AA class, GNCC racer Layton Smail (Team Green Kawasaki) and 3X ISDE competitor Jaden Dahners (RPM KTM) made appearances, bringing more talent to the field. Both riders grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and it showed—they were contenders before the flag even went up. Dahners had a rough start, with his bike failing to fire, leaving him dead last off the line. Undeterred, he passed five riders in a single corner and continued methodically picking off racers in the class. Once he made his way past Chase Larson (Beta), Dahners found a rhythm and settled into second place. Smail took the lead early, jumping into first as soon as the riders entered the woods. Despite battling goggle issues, he held onto that position for the entire race to take the win. Chase Larson, who hails from the east side of the mountains where the terrain is more open and less wooded, found himself in unfamiliar territory navigating the tight, rain-soaked trees. Still, he held on to finish a solid third and complete the AA podium.
